Surf Camps · Peniche, Portugal

Seven days. One coast. Everything handled.

You bring yourself. We’ll handle the rest — a week living by the water in Ferrel and Baleal, coached every day by the family who grew up reading this coast.

Three hours from most of Europe — turquoise water, no long-haul.

The camp

One price. The whole week sorted.

No hidden line items, no scavenging for a board or a bed. Everything below is part of the camp — you just show up ready to surf.

Where you’ll stay

Your own room. Your own kitchen. Not a bunk bed.

Most surf camps put ten people in a room and call it the experience. We do the opposite. Marlin Houses is private land above the coast with one of the best views in town — and every guest gets their own private room and their own kitchen.

The usual surf camp

  • A bunk in a room of eight or ten
  • One shared kitchen for everyone
  • Queueing for a bathroom
  • A hostel, with boards outside

Marlin Houses

  • Your own private room
  • Your own kitchen
  • Private land, gated and quiet
  • Pool, barbecue and private parking
  • Ocean view across the property — you can see the waves from the houses, so you know what the sea is doing before you have finished your coffee.
  • A pool and a barbecue — for the afternoons when your shoulders have had enough and nobody wants to drive anywhere.
  • Private parking — on site, off the road, with room for boards.
  • One of the best positions in town — private land above the coast, minutes from the water, quiet at night.

The houses

Three to choose from.

Whichever you take, the room is yours and the kitchen is yours. Tell us your group and we’ll match you to the right one.

The beaches

A whole peninsula of waves.

Peniche points in every direction, so there’s almost always a sheltered, rideable beach whatever the wind is doing. We pick the right one each morning — you just follow.

A week, roughly

How the seven days tend to flow.

A rhythm, not a timetable — we move sessions to chase the best conditions. But most weeks look something like this.

Six surf lessons and one surfskate session sit inside the week wherever the ocean is best — we move sessions to chase the forecast. Weeks run Monday to Monday, so you check out on the Monday morning. Non-surfing partners and friends are always welcome for everything but the lessons.

From the people who came

A week they still talk about.

We really enjoyed the surf lessons, Lourenço was amazing with the kids, hoping to be back!
Denise, USA · July 2026
It’s always a good time coming back to Baleal having Lourenço take us in the water. My family is very grateful for all the effort he puts into his work.
Michael, Germany · October 2025
We had the best time!!! Can’t wait to be back and surf again. Our kids say the best thing of our holidays: Lourenço.
Sarah & Robin, Germany · September 2025

Design your week

Build your camp. We’ll do the rest.

Step 1 of 8 Who’s coming
How many of you are coming?

Children count too — we’ll sort the right rooms and boards.

2
two people

Our houses sleep up to six. Bigger group? Tell us — we often run two houses side by side.

And who are you?

Share the house, or take it all?

Both include everything — the same lessons, the same coaching, the same week.

Which week suits you?

2026 is nearly gone — 2027 is wide open for advance booking.

Weeks run Monday to Monday — but if your flights fall on different days, message us and we’ll arrange it around you.

Where’s the group at with surfing?

A rough idea is plenty — we coach every level, and mixed groups are normal.

Any preference on the house?

Not sure? Leave it to us — we’ll match it to your group and the week.

Want to add anything?

All optional. Your six surf lessons, the surfskate session and the drone film are already in the price.

Where do we send your quote?

Just enough to reply well. We never share it — see our privacy note.

One look, then send.

Here’s your camp. Tap any line to change it, then send it our way.

    Before you ask

    Camp questions.

Do I need to be able to surf already?

Not at all. The camp works for complete first-timers and for surfers who already ride green waves — the six lessons are pitched to your level, and mixed-level groups are completely normal.

Can a non-surfing partner or friend come?

Yes. They’re welcome to stay with you and join everything but the lessons — the coast, Nazaré, the meals, the evenings. Just tell us in the form so we plan the space.

How do I get there from Lisbon?

It’s about an hour’s drive north. You can rent a car, take the bus to Peniche, or add our airport transfer in the booking and let us handle it door to door.

    When are the camps?

We run set weeks through the season — the available ones show up in the booking above. If your dates aren’t listed, ask anyway; we can sometimes arrange a private week for a group.

What’s the price, and how do I pay?

You’ll get an exact, all-in price with your reply — it depends on group size, week and any extras. A small deposit secures your spot; the rest is due before or on arrival. Nothing is charged when you send the form.

What if the surf is flat or stormy?

We chase the best beach on the peninsula every day, and move sessions around the forecast. On the rare day the ocean won’t play, that’s what the surfskate session, Nazaré and the rest of the coast are for.

    What should I bring?

Swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, warm clothes for the evenings, and whatever you sleep in. Boards, wetsuits and all the surf gear are ours.

Can you tailor a private week for our group?

Often, yes — families, friends, clubs. Tell us what you have in mind in the booking and we’ll build it with you.
